Dear Registrant,
Before you rush off for the holiday season please humour me and consider this: unless you are monitoring the filings of your own business at Companies House you could be the victim of fraud.
In the past we have known of cases where directors have been resigned from their own company through fraudulent submissions to Companies House. The crooks have then transacted business as if they were bona fide directors!
More recently a checkSURE User has told us of another scam. Tony Greville-Smith (pictured) of Sky Marketing Limited received a phone call from Staples, the large office supply multiple, chasing payment from him for goods purchased weeks previously - supposedly in the name of Sky Marketing. Investigations revealed that the orders were made for the company but delivered to a different registered address. Tony's enquiries led him to Companies House documents (available for £7.95 plus VAT) where he found that between the period of 22nd September and 6th November, someone had filed a Form 287 against his company to change the registered address. Once this form had been accepted at Companies House, the fraudster made the purchases from Staples. Another Form 287 was then filed after these purchases were made to change the address back.

By adding a Keep it Live! Report on your own company to your checkSURE portfolio you can catch these bogus filings. checkSURE Keep it Live! email alerts consist of one email daily if there are changes to the data on the companies in your checkSURE Portfolio.
For £14.95 plus VAT, Keep it Live! reports provide peace of mind.
Treat yourself to one for Christmas!
