Allied Domecq

By developing an extensive network of either joint venture, wholly owned and third party and franchised outlets all around the world, Allied Domecq has become the second largest distiller of wines and spirits in the world - second only to Diageo PLC. Allied Domecq PLC are known for their outstanding customer service and their presence can be seen worldwide through their famous brand names operating in over 14 000 locations and over 60 countries.

As well as its Wines and Spirits division, Allied Domecq also has a retail division, owning such brands as Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin Donuts and various other pubs in the UK.

How Allied Domecq Began

The Allied Domecq that we know today actually began as a result of three UK based breweries merging together to form a larger company. The three breweries, Ansells, Ind Coope and Tetley Walker had been operating independantly for years, each having a major presence in the brewing and pub-operating business. The merger resulted in Allied Breweries that was incorporated in 1961.
