Companies House warns of Fraudulent Visa Scams and Job Offers

Companies House has issued a warning on its website recently due to numerous complaints and queries it has received about apparent job vacancies within the UK. These job offers claim to be from the oil company, hotel, college and banking sectors and the adverts are placed in reputable newspapers and websites. As well as claiming to be highly paid jobs, the adverts also offer facilities for candidates to be able to obtain UK visas through their contacts.
Companies House are warning people to be very wary of these adverts and that these jobs don’t actually exist, as the only way that a UK visa can be obtained is through the local UK embassy or commission.
The Companies House website also writes to let people know that the adverts ask for payments for these “bogus UK visas” through a money service bureau – thus allowing the payment to be collected anywhere in the world and become untraceable once the money has been collected.
If you are currently looking for a job, please treat all job adverts with a degree of caution – especially if it sounds too good to be true. Do some research on the companies advertising and see if it fits with the advert. This research will wheedle out any bogus adverts as Companies House warns that the contact details given by these adverts are false and usually the companies don’t exist.
