11th Febuary 2008
Companies House has just announced that they will be suspending their services and processing functions temporarily at the end of February on their website. This suspension is necessary so that the new Companies House Information Processing System can be implemented.
The implementation of this new system is a major change for Companies House and will replace the old mainframe computer – allowing them to develop their services in the future. This essential work will take place from Friday 22nd February to Monday 25th February 2008 and several of the services will be affected. Listed below are the Companies House services that may be affected:
Companies House On-Line Services
The Companies House Direct Helpdesk will be available as usual on Friday 22nd and Monday 25th February 2008, however:
All on-line services will resume on Tuesday 26th February 2008 at 9am.
Companies House Information Centres
The information centres will be open as usual, however the following will be affected:
Companies House Contact Centre
Although the Contact Centre will be open as normal, the following services will not be available on Monday 25th February 2008: Company Name Checks; Same Day Certified Copies; and Document Image Ordering.
Software Filing Service
All processing will cease at 3pm on Thursday 21st February 2008 and recommence on Tuesday 26th February. These processes will be affected: Standard Incorporations; Same Day Incorporations; and Other Document Types. Same Day Incorporations will not be available on Friday 22nd and Monday 25th February 2008.
Although this is a big and essential change for Companies House, they are aiming to keep the disruption to their services to a minimum. Full details of the temporary suspension can be seen on their website at www.companieshouse.gov.uk.
